Members and friends of Our Ability Alliance/NYBLN,

John Robinson Executive Director

John Robinson Executive Director

After many negotiations, New York State has decided not to fund the business leadership network (Our Ability Alliance/NYBLN) in this upcoming budget. While this is extremely discouraging, we will not discontinue our efforts.  This has been – and continues to be – a learning process. We will be stronger because of this process.

Our Ability will push for funding in fiscal 2020, beginning in November. We will add to the 32 businesses interested in hiring across this state. We will continue to work with New York State government on including individuals with disabilities in its economic development restructuring.

Our Ability will be partnering with Sen. Robert G. Ortt for the individuals with disabilities we represent to have a voice in the future economic development structure of New York State. We want to thank Sen. Ortt and his staff for their support of individuals with disabilities in New York State. Our community should know we have a true friend with the senator.

Finally, since people with disabilities are an underserved minority in New York State, we will pursue the addition of individuals with disabilities inside an updated Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) legislation.

Please help us by reaching out to your New York State Assembly member or New York State Senator, and mention you support Our Ability and our New York Business Leadership Network.

Thank you…

John Robinson, Our Ability
