In 2015, we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act. Since that landmark legislation was enacted in 1990, we have witnessed a generation of change not only in our physical environment, but in support of inclusion for all Americans. Join Journey Along the Erie Canal this summer as we cycle across New York State and raise awareness in this very special anniversary year.
While we have made so many advancements, our work continues in supporting employment and physical inclusion in so many areas . Our Journey continues to be a symbol of this endeavor.
In 2014, with the support of Sen. Gillibrand, the New York State Barge Canal was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are continually reminded of the ability within all as well as the history we have towards economic achievement in our own backyard.
This summer individuals with disabilities, community organizers, political leaders and historians will join together for 1 mile or 350 miles as we hand cycle across our great state once again.
In 2014 - Our Ability's Journey Along the Erie Canal video stories was sponsored by NYSID.
